OWN’s Heart & Hustle: Houston shines a spotlight on six dynamic women of color who are defining success on their own terms. Set in Houston, the show balances the drama of entrepreneurship with the vulnerability of real-life relationships, friendship shifts, and personal healing.

Each woman represents a different facet of leadership, and La’Torria is the one dubbed “The Hopeless Romantic.” As a single woman building an empire, her journey offers viewers an intimate look at what it means to juggle ambition, love, faith, and purpose in front of and behind the lens.

In our interview, she reflected on what made her finally step in front of the camera: “I’ve spent years telling other people’s stories. This time, I wanted to be brave enough to tell my own.”

But Heart & Hustle isn’t just another reality show, it’s a rare window into the real lives of powerful, purpose-driven women navigating a world that often asks them to shrink. From raw emotions to big wins, and the unfiltered in-between, this series celebrates resilience, sisterhood, and storytelling that matters.

If you’ve ever been underestimated, overworked, or overlooked, this show is for you. Tune in, get inspired, and see why La’Torria Lemon and the cast of Heart & Hustle are redefining what it means to lead with both purpose and power.

The Business of Building and Belonging

La’Torria’s journey into PR wasn’t handed to her, it was earned, step by step, campaign by campaign. She got her start in media while still in college, working promotions at Hot 107.9 and serving on the PR team at SoSo Def before founding Lemon-Lime Light Media just two months after graduating from Clark Atlanta University.

Her résumé includes campaigns for Beyoncé, Chris Brown, Jamie Foxx, Essence Festival, David Banner, Melissa McCarthy, and John Singleton, as well as high-profile clients in faith, fashion, politics, and music. What sets her apart is her ability to connect vision with visibility, helping people with purpose make impact through the power of storytelling.

“Whether I’m working with a Grammy-winning artist or a nonprofit with a mission I’m always asking, ‘What’s the heart of this story, and how can we amplify it?’”

She shared her blueprint for team building too, explaining how humility, alignment, and a shared mission are non-negotiables in her agency. She’s led with integrity and when it came time to step into more visible leadership roles, she didn’t hesitate.

Her leadership was spotlighted in 2020 when she served as the official publicist for the George Floyd memorial and funeral services, a moment she says reminded her of the why behind everything she does.

Heart First, Always

In Heart & Hustle: Houston, viewers will get a front-row seat to La’Torria’s balancing act between career, love, and community. As one of three single cast members, she lets her guard down showcasing the highs and challenges of dating while being a well-known name in entertainment and media.

“It’s not that I’m too strong. I just haven’t found someone who can meet me where I am emotionally, spiritually, professionally,” she laughed.

But make no mistake this series doesn’t just highlight the glitz of public life. It shows the late nights, the quiet breakdowns, and the internal growth it takes to stay grounded in the public eye.

Legacy & Love for HBCUs

La’Torria’s heart beats for HBCUs, and her resume proves it. She’s not only a Clark Atlanta alum, but a mentor to over 100 AUC students and sponsor of over 40 high schoolers who’ve toured campuses across the South. Her nonprofit, Let’s Talk Teen Talk, teaches youth about life skills, entrepreneurship, and media bridging the gap between dreams and opportunity.

She’s also behind events like Houston Step Fest and First Class Men of Houston, using celebration as a way to elevate overlooked stories.

“I believe in pouring into the next generation because someone once poured into me,” she told Slim.
